Tribute to Brenda Evans, 1936 - 2025

Our Loving Mom, Nan, and Great-Nan You were the heart that held us near, The gentle voice we loved to hear, The steady hand, the tender smile, That made our troubles small awhile. From daughters first, your love was shown, A strength so fierce, yet softly grown; You taught us kindness, taught us grace, And left your light in every place. To us, your grandchildren, you were joy, Each girl and every little boy— You’d cuddle close, you’d laugh and play, And make the clouds all drift away. And then, great-grandchildren came, You loved them deeply, just the same— Your eyes would sparkle, heart so wide, As generations bloomed with pride. We’ll miss your laughter, warm embrace, Your gentle soul, your smiling face; But in our hearts, you’ll always stay, Guiding us along the way. Your love still whispers through the air, In every memory, you’re there— Our dearest Mom, our Nan so true, Forever loved, we honour you.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
